Novel and inexpensive method to sense speed for DC brushed motors

Many cost sensitive applications use DC brushed motors and need to regulate the speed of the motor. To date the most economic method is to sense back EMF but this require an Analogue to Digital Converter (ADC). The new method requires just one digital input to the speed controller, no ADC is required.

The idea is currently patent pending and can be bought cheaper in this state now than later when it is pagented.
