It can show how much a device has been used to better assess the value of a particular device whether it is being sold, traded, or to compare the value between companies that manufacture the devices.

It can help improve the quality of devices that use touchscreen by utilizing the data over time. It can also avoid fraud when told 'lightly used' etc.
