The MBK -4N9 consists of two lenses, one facing anterior and the other facing posterior. Also build into the device will be a mini infra-red camera, carbon monoxide detector and temperature indicator. Tracking of each firefighter will also be done through GPS Technology. Two way communication will be done through the use of build in microphone. The microphone will be voice activated to allow communication with Incident Command while leaving the hands free to conduct fire ground operations. This will be a secondary device in the event that there is a radio malfunction.
Having these devices bui9ld into the attachment would allow the firefighter to be able to accomplish the task of fighting the fire or rescue operations while being able to monitor the environment around him.
Itfrees up the amount of equipment that the firefighter must take into the fire operation and leaves his hands available to do more import tasks.
The importance of this is that by way of Iphone, Android, Ipad, Laptop, Desktop computer, or other devices the Incident Command can see, in real time, the incidents as they occur inside the fire structure.
The Incident Command will be able to monitor internal carbon monoxide, oxygen, methane, and or carbon dioxide levels to warn the firefighters of possible hazards.
Incident Command will be able to monitor, through the infra-red camera, possible hot spots in the structure, and be able to readjust the fire ground operations as he sees fit. The IC will also be able to monitor any increase or decrease in temperature to determine if the fire has diminished or if it is still increasing. This will enable the IC to order a withdrawal before situations such as flash over, roll-over or back draft causes added injuries or fatalities.
The GPS Technology will enable Rescue Operations to be performed more precisely.
The real time footage could be used by fire investigators to assess possibilities after the structure has come under control. By seeing the fire in real time, it would allow the investigators the increased information to properly assess the cause and origin of the fires.
This device will come with rechargeable batteries, a water proof covering and anti-fog lens. It will be manufactured to withstand temperatures in the area of 700 F - 1100 F
Last, but not least, real time footage could also be used by firefighters who are injured on the job to be able to present their disability claims without the legal red tape used to deny them and their families of the benefits that they deserve.
The estimated Retail price for this device is $99.95. And the monthly subscription fee is $20.
